Know that the purpose of the mind is not to make idle conversations but to remain constantly focused on the indweller. Life is the dream of desires, My dears - death is its rude awakening. It fulfills each desire when the eyes remain closed and mercilessly, snatches it away, when the eyes awaken.
Your life, My dears, is the fool's imagination of possessions - God is the reality of nothingness. When the mind questions - doubts arise, when the mind teases - anger arises, when the mind fears - desires arises - when the mind rests, My child - God arises! And how can you rest this unrestful mind?!! Know, My dears, that the mind habitually worries - let it worry alone! Remain detached from its fears and it will only kill itself, one day. Stay under its evil spell and you, too, will meet the end with evil.
You lose courage, even before you begin your sadhana. You begin to justify your defeat, even before the battle begins. With such an attitude, how can strength arise? What will motivate and inspire you, when you begin the change, setting the borders of limitations? This attitude of hopelessness must go! One must believe in one's divine nature and, only then, will his steps be firm.
One must recognize the truth and, only then, will he aspire to attain it. If "pity" will be your drive, then the outcome will be pitiful too! Do not despair the challenges of change - charge at them like the bull with its horns - bringing in them the fear that will make them shudder at the very thought of a future confrontation.
