Many people believe that if taken at the beginning of a cold, there is less likelihood of developing the flu. This hot moist environment has also been known to improve the health and look of hair and scalp. Although the effect will be short lived it is quite possible to sweat off several pounds while relaxing.

    This is one of the most ancient forms of detoxification and helps open the pores, which can allow for the elimination of toxins. The result is much like a simulated fever; it can help sweat the toxins out of your body.

    The main risk of either a sauna or a steam bath is overdoing it; too much heat is not good for you and may result in fainting or even more severe complications. The ideal duration is 10 to 15 minutes. In addition, steam baths are sometimes not recommended for pregnant women. As always you should check with your doctor if you have any doubts.

    Steam showers are more that just a lot of hot air. It can be a natural and safe form of rejuvenation for your body and soul. They are a truly unique form of bathing that can be affordable and easy to maintain, when compared to hot tubs or repeated visits to an exotic spa.
