The primary difference between Clickbank and Commission Junction is the type of products that they offer. Clickbank is a system of digital products, such as eBooks and other downloadable products, while Commission Junction allows affiliate marketing of physically shipped products.
When you join Clickbank's affiliate programs, you have access to over 10,000 digital products that you can promote and sell. Some of the commissions that can be earned are as high as 75% of the purchase price of the products you sell, and for having very little overhead to running an affiliate marketing business, this results in a very high profit margin for affiliates. Clickbank handles commission payments for affiliates of the products listed through the Clickbank website.
If you become an affiliate marketer of Commission Junction, you'll earn commission for selling physical products from the companies you select from the membership areas. Some companies that use Commission Junction include eBay, Snapfish, and Sony- as a member of Commissoin Junction you could decide to market the products from these companies and others in order to earn revenues on sales and leads that you generate.
As a newcomer to the wonderful world of affiliate marketing, there are several steps you can take to start promoting the affiliate programs that you join. Probably the most simple way to start out would be to set up a blogger account (http://www.blogger.com) and begin posting short articles and discussions regarding the product or service you are promoting, with your affiliate link included. This allows people who find your blogger page to read about the product or service, and to click your link for more information or to make a purchase. Adding new content to your blogger page will help you get into search engines and be found by internet searchers.
